About Vidtrip

Vidtrip turns a YouTube travel video into a day-by-day trip plan, with every stop on a map and a printable PDF.

What it does

Paste a link to a travel video and answer four questions: trip length and month, who's going, budget and pace, and your interests. Vidtrip writes an itinerary around the places the creator shows and recommends, adjusted to your answers.

The preview is free: the trip overview, budget, highlights and the first stops of day one. The full plan costs $4.99, paid once per plan. It adds every day and stop, pins each stop on a map, and comes with a printable PDF and a map file for Google My Maps. There's no account and no subscription.

How plans are made

Every plan goes through the same three steps.

  1. The video. Vidtrip fetches the video's title, description and captions through SerpApi, a search data service. A video with no captions and only a short description can't be planned.
  2. The plan. A large language model, run on the Wiro AI platform, reads the captions together with your answers and writes the plan in a fixed structure: days, stops with times and rough local costs, food, areas to stay, getting around, packing, and what the creator recommends or says to skip, each linked to its moment in the video. Your answers win where they conflict with the video. If you ask for more days than the video covers, the model adds well-known nearby sights, which have no link to the video. If the video isn't about travel, Vidtrip stops and says so.
  3. The map. After you pay, each stop is looked up on Google Maps through SerpApi to add its location, rating, opening hours, website and a photo. If a lookup fails or lands too far from the destination, the stop stays in the plan without a pin instead of getting a guess.

A plan is generated text, and it can be wrong. Places close, hours and prices change, and a model can misread a transcript or name a place that doesn't exist. Check opening hours, prices and bookings before you rely on them.

The example plans were made with these same steps from public videos, each for a different kind of traveler. Your own plans are saved in your browser, not on our servers; the privacy policy explains what is sent where.

How we write the blog

Blog posts are drafted with AI help from video transcripts and the example plans, then edited and fact-checked by the Vidtrip team before they're published. Destination guides name the video they're based on and its creator, and link each stop to its moment in the video.

Prices and opening hours in a post reflect what we found when we wrote it. They change, so check them before you go.

If you find a mistake, email hey@vidtrip.app with the link to the post and what's wrong. We check it and correct the post.

What Vidtrip is not

  • Not a travel agency. Vidtrip doesn't make bookings or sell travel products.
  • Not affiliated with YouTube or Google. Vidtrip works from public video information and links back to YouTube. A plan isn't reviewed or endorsed by the creator of the video.
  • Not official advice. For visas, health, safety and local rules, check official sources.
