FAQ

Questions, answered

How plans are made, what the preview includes, and how payment works.

What is Vidtrip?

Vidtrip is an AI trip planner that starts from a YouTube travel video instead of a blank prompt. It reads the video's transcript, keeps the creator's specific picks, and turns them into a day-by-day itinerary tailored to your trip length, budget and pace, with every stop on the map and a printable PDF.

Which videos work best?

Destination guides, itineraries and travel vlogs where the creator talks through where they go. The video needs captions, and most have them, including auto-generated ones.

Does it work with TikTok or Instagram videos?

Not yet. Vidtrip works with YouTube links, including youtu.be short links. If a TikTok or Reel gave you the idea, find a longer YouTube guide to the same place and paste that instead.

Can the plan fit my own trip?

Yes. Before generating, you answer four quick questions: trip length, who's going, budget and pace, and your interests. The plan keeps the creator's best picks and adapts the rest to your answers.

How long does it take?

Usually about a minute. Vidtrip fetches the video and its transcript, then writes the plan around your answers. Keep the window open until it finishes.

Is Vidtrip free?

The preview is free: the trip overview, budget, highlights, the creator's top recommendations and the start of day one. The full plan is a one-time $4.99, paid through Dodo Payments, with no subscription. It shows every day and stop, pins each one on the map with ratings and opening hours, and adds food, stays, transport tips, what to skip, the packing list and the PDF.

Why not paste the video into ChatGPT or Gemini?

You can, and it's a fine way to get a summary. Vidtrip does the work after the summary: it keeps each of the creator's picks with the moment it appears in the video, orders them into days that fit your answers, and looks every stop up on Google Maps for its rating, opening hours and address. Then it puts them on a map and in a PDF.

Can I open the stops in Google Maps or Apple Maps?

Yes. Every stop has Google Maps and Apple Maps buttons, each day opens as a route in Google Maps, and you can download a map file that imports into Google My Maps with one layer per day. Trips longer than 10 days, the most layers My Maps allows, share a layer between two days.

Do I need an account?

No. Your plan is saved in this browser. After paying, you can come back to it any time and download the PDF again.

Can I share the plan with the people I'm traveling with?

Yes. Send them the PDF, import the map file into Google My Maps and share that map, or send each day's Google Maps route. The plan page itself stays in your browser, since there are no accounts.

How accurate is the plan?

It follows what the creator shows and recommends, and links back to the moment in the video. Opening hours and prices change, so check anything time-sensitive before you go.

What if the plan doesn't work as described?

Email us within 14 days. You get a full refund if the plan doesn't unlock, the PDF doesn't generate, or the plan clearly doesn't match the video.

Still deciding?

The preview is free. Try it with a video you like.
