Privacy policy
Vidtrip has no accounts and no database. This page explains what the site handles, which services receive it, and what stays in your browser.
Last updated:
In short
- No accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies.
- Your plans are saved in your browser. Vidtrip doesn't keep a copy.
- Dodo Payments handles checkout. Vidtrip never sees your card number.
What you give us
- The YouTube link you paste.
- Your answers to the planner questions, including any notes you type. Notes are sent to the AI model with the rest of your answers, so leave out anything you'd rather keep private.
- At checkout, the payment and contact details Dodo Payments asks for. Dodo collects them. Vidtrip can see the name and email on a payment, never the card number.
- Anything you write when you email us.
Who receives what
Vidtrip's server calls SerpApi and Wiro itself, so neither receives your IP address, name or email.
- SerpApi, a search data service, receives the video's ID and returns its title, description and captions. After you pay, it also receives the names of the plan's stops and its destination, to look them up on Google Maps.
- Wiro, the AI platform that runs the language model, receives the video's title, description and captions together with your planner answers, and returns the plan.
- Dodo Payments receives the details you enter on its checkout page and processes your payment as the merchant of record, under its own privacy policy. Each order carries the plan's ID, so a payment unlocks only the plan it was made for. Before opening a full plan, Vidtrip's server asks Dodo whether that payment went through.
What stays in your browser
The server encrypts each full plan with AES-256-GCM before sending it to your browser. Only Vidtrip's server holds the key, so the encrypted plan can't be read or changed without it. When you unlock a plan or download its files, your browser sends the encrypted plan back; the server opens it in memory to do the job and doesn't keep it.
Your browser's local storage keeps:
- each plan you've made: the video details, your answers, the free preview and the encrypted plan, plus the opened plan and the payment ID once you've paid;
- your last planner answers, so the questions start where you left off.
Local storage isn't a cookie and isn't sent to us with each request. To delete it, clear this site's data in your browser settings. That deletes your plans for good: Vidtrip has no copy, and a trip link opens only in the browser that made the plan. Download the PDF if you want to keep one.
Cookies and analytics
Vidtrip doesn't use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts are served from Vidtrip's own domain.
Other services your browser contacts
- The trip map loads its tiles from OpenFreeMap, so OpenFreeMap receives your IP address and the part of the map you view.
- Video thumbnails and place photos are fetched by Vidtrip's server and served from our domain, so showing them doesn't connect your browser to YouTube or Google.
- Checkout takes place on Dodo Payments' own page. Buttons that open a stop in Google Maps or Apple Maps, or a moment in a video on YouTube, take you to that service. Each applies its own privacy policy.
Server logs
The servers that run Vidtrip keep standard request logs, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, to keep the site running and secure. When a request fails, the error log notes the video ID or plan ID involved so we can fix the problem.
If you email us, we keep the conversation to answer you and to handle any refund.
Your choices
You can delete everything Vidtrip stores in your browser at any time, as described above. For questions about the details on a purchase, email us. Dodo Payments also handles requests about the data it holds.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
