Bali in 2 Weeks: An Itinerary From a Video Guide
A Bali 2-week itinerary from Wanderlust Wellman's video: Uluwatu, Canggu, Nusa Penida, Sidemen, Ubud, North Bali and Gili Trawangan, with day ranges.

On this page
Two weeks in Bali are enough to move around the island area by area, as Wanderlust Wellman's video guide does: beaches and cliffs in Uluwatu, cafes and sunsets in Canggu, the famous viewpoints of Nusa Penida, rice fields in Sidemen and Ubud, waterfalls and dolphins in North Bali, and a slow finish on Gili Trawangan. Every stop below comes from what the creator shows and says, with links to the moments in the video, plus his advice on trimming the route if two weeks of moving feels like too much.

Seven bases in two weeks is a lot of packing and unpacking. Our guide to planning a trip with several bases explains how to sequence moves like these.
Days 1-2: Uluwatu
You land at Ngurah Rai International Airport and transfer about 30 minutes south to Uluwatu by hotel pickup or taxi. If you have energy, he suggests a beach club such as Single Fin or Sundays.
- Blue Point and Suluban Beach. Start at Blue Point Beach for cliffs and surf, then go around the corner through a small cave to Suluban Beach, tucked between cliffs. It is probably his favorite beach in Bali; watch the waves.
- Uluwatu Temple. A Hindu temple on the cliffs with coastal views and very naughty monkeys. Stay for the Kecak fire dance.
- Green Bowl Beach. Day 2 starts at a secluded beach down many stairs. He hadn't visited it himself, so treat it as his wish list.
- Sundays Beach Club. Entry cost about 800,000 rupiah, with 500,000 going toward food. You arrive by funicular and can rent snorkel gear or a see-through kayak.
Days 3-4: Canggu
He has mixed feelings about Canggu, a digital nomad hub, but still recommends a couple of days.
- Spa and surf. Book a massage at a spa such as Tranquility, then take a surf lesson with Surf with Aldo on Batu Bolong Beach, which he says costs far less than in Hawaii. Samadi offers yoga and a Sunday morning market.
- Breakfast with rice field views. Day 4 starts at his favorite Canggu cafe, I Am Vegan Babe.
- Tanah Lot. A sea temple on a small rock island. You can walk out at low tide; at high tide it seems to float.
- Balinese dinner and sunset. He suggests a warung for mie goreng, nasi goreng, Balinese curry, nasi campur and satay, then sunset at Batu Bolong Beach. The sand isn't as good as Uluwatu's, but it faces west.
Days 5-6: Nusa Penida
Nusa Penida works as a day trip, but he recommends one night because the island is bigger than you think.
- Kelingking Beach. The T-Rex-shaped headland is the island's top sight. Come early. The stairs down are steep and treacherous, so only go if you can stay a while at the bottom.
- Broken Beach and Angel's Billabong. Side by side: a natural rock arch and a natural infinity pool you can swim in only when the sea is calm, which is rare.
- Manta Point. Snorkel with or watch for manta rays. He missed it on his day trip and regrets it.
- Diamond Beach and the treehouse. On day 6, see Diamond Beach and the Rumah Pohon treehouse with its "Thousand Island" view, then take the ferry to East Bali.
Days 7-8: Sidemen and East Bali
Sidemen is calmer and greener, with rice fields and open landscapes.
- Salak farm. Pick snake fruit at an agrotourism farm and try salak coffee and tea.
- Mount Agung views. He likes Lahangan Sweet, a drive to the northeast; Bukit Cinta is closer.
- Jagasatru waterfall. A beautiful waterfall where he and his wife were the only visitors at dusk.
- Free time. He loves exploring aimlessly here, stopping wherever looks beautiful.
On day 8, drive to Ubud with a stop at Gembleng Waterfall and its natural infinity pools.
Days 8-9: Ubud
- Kajeng rice fields. After you arrive, walk the Sweet Orange trail and eat at Sweet Orange Warung, away from the main streets.
- Tegallalang. Day 9 starts early at his favorite rice terraces. Walk down the terraces to find quiet areas where farmers work.
- Tirta Empul or Tibumana. Choose the Tirta Empul water temple and its bathing ritual, or Tibumana, his favorite Ubud waterfall, with a pool to swim in.
- Sage and Campuhan. Dinner at Sage, all vegan with great desserts, then the Campuhan Ridge Walk for jungle views.
Days 10-11: North Bali
- Ulun Danu Beratan. A temple on Lake Beratan in a cooler, mistier climate.
- Hot springs or waterfall. Relax at Banjar Hot Springs, or go to Aling-Aling Waterfall for a natural slide and cliff jumps of 5, 10 and 15 meters. He would pick Aling-Aling.
- Lovina. Sleep in Lovina, then take a dolphin tour on day 11 (see the skip list), visit Sekumpul, which he calls the island's tallest waterfall, and stay by Lake Beratan or return to Ubud.
Days 12-14: Gili Trawangan and home
Gili Trawangan, near Lombok, has no cars or scooters. The fast boat ride can be rough. Rent bikes, snorkel off the east side, and watch the west-side sunset with Bali and Mount Agung on the horizon. Day 13 is slow, with a surf lesson on waves he found gentler than Canggu's. On day 14, return to Bali and stay near Ubud or Canggu before your flight.
What the creator recommends
- Suluban Beach, probably his favorite beach in Bali.
- The Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu Temple.
- A night on Nusa Penida rather than a rushed day trip.
- Tegallalang early, walking deep into the terraces.
- Aling-Aling Waterfall over the hot springs if you want adventure.
- Learning to surf on Gili Trawangan, where the waves suited him better.
What the creator says to skip
- The "Temple of Heaven" in East Bali. He describes a two-hour queue with numbers called by megaphone and a staged water reflection for photos, and calls it a waste of time.
- Dolphin tours that chase the animals. He urges choosing an ethical operator that keeps its distance and names the one he used in the video.
- Batu Bolong for a beach day. It is a sunset stop.
- Kelingking's stairs on a tight schedule. The climb takes a lot of energy and time.
How to trim the route
He admits the plan is fast and offers ways to slow it down:
- Skip Canggu if the digital nomad lifestyle doesn't interest you.
- For culture and rice fields, stick to Ubud, East Bali and North Bali.
- For a beach trip, keep Uluwatu, Nusa Penida and Gili Trawangan, with a little Ubud.
- Do Nusa Penida as a day trip.
- For a month, double the plan. He also suggests Amed and Munduk, which he didn't include.
For daily costs, see our guide to pricing a trip day by day.
Check before you go. Entry fees, boat schedules, tide conditions and opening hours change. Confirm them locally and check sea conditions before boat days and swims.
Make this route your own
This plan covers a lot of Bali at the creator's quick pace. You can turn this same video into a Bali plan matched to your own dates, budget and pace on Vidtrip, keeping his picks with timestamp links. To do it by hand, our guide to turning a YouTube travel video into an itinerary shows how. If Bali is one part of a longer trip in Southeast Asia, our two weeks in Thailand loops from Bangkok to the north and the southern islands, and our Vietnam route runs from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi.
